Defence Tech Summit 2026
November 10, 2026 | Zappeion Conference Hall | Athens/Greece
Defence Tech Summit aims to evolve into the annual meeting point for everyone involved in the field of defence innovation and the use of digital technologies in defence applications.
Key objectives of the Defence Tech Summit are
Mapping and highlighting the Greek defence tech ecosystem
Recording existing “players” (startups, companies, research centers, universities, Armed Forces units), the technologies already being developed in Greece, as well as opportunities and possibilities for collaboration.
Showcasing synergies between startups and the defence industry
Greek startups have expertise in AI, drones, cybersecurity, robotics, sensors, and dual-use technologies. The defence industry needs speed, flexibility, and new development models.
The Summit can function as a matchmaking hub, accelerating collaborations that under other circumstances would take years.
Attracting international investors and funds specializing in defence tech
In recent years, international VC funds and sovereign funds have been investing heavily in defence tech. Greece can enter the map, as long as it presents a coherent narrative and real opportunities.
Strengthening cooperation between the state and the private sector
Defence technology requires regulatory flexibility, access to data, testing and evaluation structures, etc.
The Summit can open a meaningful discussion on how the state can act as an accelerator rather than an obstacle.
Showcasing dual-use technologies
Many technologies developed for defence applications have significant commercial value (AI, autonomy, sensors, space tech, cybersecurity). Greece can leverage defence tech as a driver for the development of the broader technology economy.
